Originally Designed By Takenobu Igarashi In 1987, The Earth Clock Provided A Creative Twist On The Classic Rectangular Table Clock. The Rounded Shape References The Earth, The Grooves On The Clock’S Body Represent The Oceans, While The Clear Dome And Dial Symbolize The Land. The Blue Second Hand Extends To Both Sides, Adding A Fun Accent To The Design. The Sweep Second Hand Means That The Mechanism Moves In A Smooth Fluid Motion. Manufactured Using A Traditional Sand-Casting Technique In Takaoka City, Toyama, The Surface Shape Cannot Be Repaired Once It Has Been Cast, So There Is A High-Level Of Skill Applied To Make Each Piece, With A Skilled Craftsmen Cutting Each Sphere On A Lathe. Perfect As A Table Clock For The Bedroom Or A Small Studio, And Suitable For All Styles Of Interior.

Takenobu Igarashi Is A Sculptor And A Designer. As A Graphic Designer He Has So Far Created A Calendar For The Museum Of Modern Art In New York Using Axonometric Projection, Three Dimensional Logo Types And Vi Design For Suntory Hall Japan And Calpis Japan, As Well As Oun &Amp; Ymd Products. His Works Are Highly Respected Worldwide. In 1994, Takenobu Igarashi Started His Career As A Sculptor. Many Public Art Items Have Been Produced Using Materials Such As Wood, Stone, Metal, Terra Cotta And Stained Glass. He Is Also An Emeritus Professor At Tama University Of Arts In Japan.
